Knutsford Birding Feb. 17, 2019

Slim pickings in mid-February anywhere in Kamloops. 7 species is probably a new low for the area for me.  Less quantity sometimes means more quality with 8 Sharp-tailed Grouse feeding actively on buds.  I’ve only seen them a handful of times outside of winter when they feed on the ground and stay hidden.  In the winter, they often feed up in bushes and are more easily seen.
