I have been at Sun Peaks Resort the last two Fridays for non-birding reasons but had some brief time to pop over and see the Chestnut-backed Chickadees that regularly come to a feeder there. This specie is much more common in the wetter temperate rainforest type habitats of the province but quite scarce in most of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. This regional district is generally to dry for them. Reliable places to see them include Sun Peaks Resort and the higher areas of Well’s Gray Provincial Park.
