While raptor watching last Saturday afternoon, there was a sow Black Bear and 3 cubs dozing in a tree a sort ways from us.  All 4 looked to be in great condition.  Once in a while they would wake up and look around a bit as hikers and dog walkers passed by.  Towards the end of the afternoon, the cubs climbed down but then reappeared in the tree just before we left.  they were there when we arrived and were there when we left (5-6 hours total).
