Isaac, Mary, and I set out early to bird Tranquille well. The main marsh there had contained a good number of ducks and we were going to check for new migrants in the area. Upon arrival, we found the marsh frozen over again! It had melted completely last week, but with the recent cold weather, there was no open water…. We looked around the area briefly before checking out other places below. One highlight/lowlight of the day was finding a dead Northern Saw-whet Owl along Lac du Bois Road.
