Cliff Swallow Nesting Colony, Knutsford June 4, 2020

There is a colony of Cliff Swallows that have established a breeding colony under the overhang of a barn in the Knutsford area.  They scoop up beaks full of mud and deposit them in rows slowly growing their nest holes in size.  As the mud drys, a solid nest with an entrance hole can be used to support their family.  Different stages of nest building below.  Very special to see.
