Chase and Pinantan Birding Jan. 3, 2022

Covered the Chase Sewage Pond, VLA Road, South Thompson River outlet from Little Shuswap Lake, East Shuswap Road from Chase to Pritchard, and the higher elevation road from Pritchard to Paul Lake. It has really warmed up here in the last day and temps were in the -5 range.

Eurasian Collared-Dove – 5 Northern Pygmy-Owl – 1 Downy Woodpecker – 1 Hairy Woodpecker – 1 Northern Red-shafted Flicker – 3 Black-billed Magpie – 14 Canada Jay – 3 European Starling – 85 Northern Shrike – 1 Common Raven – 8 Black-capped Chickadee – 7 Mountain Chickadee – 6 Golden-crowned Kinglet – 2 Red-breasted Nuthatch – 5 Townsend’s Solitaire – 2 House Sparrow – 18 House Finch – 16 Dark-eyed Junco – 3 Song Sparrow – 1 Brewer’s Blackbird – 40
