Canada Lynx January 20+21, 2022

Presumably the same Lynx is back in the same city park here as last winter. It is making its living by taking Mallards that people feed in the park. It’s very special to see such a rare cat at such close range. I say “rare” because their habitat does not often overlap with people. They are actually quite common at higher elevations in the area but seldomly seen. Park ducks that are fed by people are easier to catch than Snowshoe Hares.

Right after a kill. The speed and power utilized to grad a duck is something that is hard to describe, it needs to be witnessed.
Having a yawn
Walking off with a duck.
