Separation Lake Birding April 20, 2022

Soon after arriving we saw 3 American Avocets and this derailed all ebird listing for our time there 🙂 On the way out, we encountered a Wilson’s Snipe hiding in an open area. We were able to approach quite close with it thinking we didn’t see it. After it was comfortable it slowly walked to a small depression and tucked down into it. It was amazing to think how many times we walk past snipe hiding like this without noticing them. Separation Lake strikes again!
