Jasper National Park Mammals July 2022

My daughter and I went on a long road trip from Kamloops to Saskatoon for a friend’s wedding last weekend. We enjoyed scenery and wildlife along the way. On the Prairies we were able to see a White-tailed Jackrabbit and 2 separate Richardson’s Ground Squirrels (both life mammals for me). There were also numerous Black Terns and Franklin’s Gulls in addition to other breeding birds along the highways on the Prairies. We passed through Jasper on both the going out and return trips in the middle of the day (not the best times for wildlife viewing) but were still able to see some of the wildlife there. All of the photos below were taken in or near Jasper National Park.

Black Bear
Coyote
Moose
Mountain Goat
Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep
