A Harlequin Duck and an American Dipper Nest 2 late July, 2022

With a huge Stonefly Nymph
Female. Harlequin Ducks are very uncommon overall in this region but a few breed in the Tranquille Creek watershed each year. They are usually seen on the lower stretches of this river in late April/early May before heading further up to nest. It is rare to catch up with them in July anywhere in Kamloops. Some also breed along the Clearwater River in Wells Gray Provincial Park.
