Tranquille Birding Sept. 12, 2022

Unusually quite there today as I visited in the late afternoon. It’s always better first thing in the morning there for the maximum number of species. There was also some wildfire smoke in the air today.

Google Images tells me that this is a swarm of Boxelder Bugs. A brief search makes me hope none of them hitched a ride home with me as they can invade houses and be quite detrimental to orchards as well.
