We watched a Coyote on a deer carcass today on one of the lakes along Highway 5A. We encountered a few carcasses out on frozen lakes this morning.

Do the deer go out to die on the lake? Do predators bring the carcasses out on the lakes? Do people dump them there and then predators drag them across the ice away from the road? Are there more carcasses in the trees from winter kill and we’re only noticing the ones on the lakes?
